Special Feature Heroic Battle of May 2, 1861 in Moca, was a patriotic and libertarian work, designed, driven and led, by a group of men coming out of the bowels the humble and hardworking people, mostly farmers from the fields near the community, people with few economic resources and little training academic or military, but they were armed beings with great courage, spirit of patriotism, love of country and determination to fight to save our Dominican Republic. However, it should be noted that the main protagonist of this event, Colonel Jose Contreras, had military training and education and is credited with being a wealthy person.
