Forbidden City in Beijing is the political-religious group over China's largest.
Its construction started in 1406/1407 on the initiative of Emperor Yongle (third in the Ming dynasty), he decided to move the capital from Nanjing to Beijing.
Its construction was fast and it ended in 1420.
The new capital was conceived as a series of concentric rectangles around a north-south axis.

-Hall of Supreme Harmony, suitable for large celebrations such as New Year, for example.
-Perfect Harmony Hall: for the preparation of the prayers before sacrficios.

-Hall of Imperial Peace: the last Ming emperors were trained in her art as alchemy.
To complete the set, there are different palaces:
- Palace of Heavenly Purity : originally housed the emperor's room.
Palace of Terrestrial Tranquility : rooms of the Empress, on her wedding night spent with the emperor.

the emperatiz had a palace for her, concubines were "lost" in the Six Western Palaces . And for times of fasting before the emperors had various celebrations "The Palace of Abstinence."
The construction of the Forbidden City responds to religious principles that represent the order of the universe and is organized around the three main halls.
The common people were prohibited from entering under pain of death. Now that it has become a museum , and in 2006 was the scourge of termites, everyone has access, good "only" 50,000 people daily.
